Basic Info
Name:Mia Fey
Bio
Character: Mia Fey
Series: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Justice For All, Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations.
Gender: Female
Age: 27
Species: Human
Sexuality: Straight

Appearance: Mia Fey plays down her looks with her outfits, favoring trim black suits for appearing in court—though no one could fail to notice her copious cleavage. She’s fair-skinned with straight brown hair, parted on the side and worn to the middle of her back; her pretty face is accented by large brown eyes and a kind, good-natured smile. Everything about her seems warm and inviting, and with her long legs and full breasts, she can be very sexy when she wants to be. Mia dresses impeccably for work, but on her own time she likes to go casual with jeans and perhaps a fitted, button-down shirt. She favors jewelry and accessories, particularly a silk scarf around her neck and the very noticeable and mysterious pendant she wears at her throat.

Personality: Mia is essentially good-natured, a friendly and kind woman who tends to give people the benefit of the doubt. She has an instinct for spotting lies and trickery, not always entirely reliable, but when she believes someone is telling the truth she will stick by them till the end. This passion made her a popular defense attorney when she was alive; Mia is generally perceived as trustworthy, though the dishonest and manipulative may see her as naïve, and can take advantage of her if she isn’t careful.

Mia is driven by a fiery spirit and her determination to protect the innocent. Once she takes up someone’s cause, be it a client or a stranger she meets on the street, she will never abandon them or give up working to help them. This is not always a good thing; Mia has burned herself out on other peoples’ behalves, and when she fails she takes it terribly, often falling into a deep depression that is difficult to get out of. She has gotten better at recognizing hopeless cases, though she can still be a fall guy for a good sob story. Early on her determination was constantly getting her into trouble, but as she progressed in her career and in life she got better at recognizing when she is getting too emotionally involved in a situation and needs to back off.

As a first impression, Mia comes across as straightforward, friendly, and good-humored. She is honest and kind and will never try to make another person feel bad, but she’s no pushover. Watch out for her in the courtroom—she has claws.

Abilities: Mia’s abilities are fairly commonplace, though they have helped a great deal with her success as a defense attorney: she’s a good listener, a good debater, and has a knack for recognizing talent. Coming from a family of spirit mediums, she is also more open than some to spiritual and psychic matters; she can often sense the presence of supernatural beings such as ghosts and seems to be good at detecting people’s moods, perhaps by sensing their auras. These abilities are undeveloped, however, as she never received formal training.

Weaknesses: Mia’s greatest strengths—her passion and drive—are also her greatest weakness. Although Mia is usually able to work through trying situations with calmness and a smile, stress does get to her and often builds without her notice until it reaches a breaking point; this especially happens when she has set a goal for herself and finds that she’s unable to achieve it. Mia wants to be there for her clients and her friends, but when she burns herself out she’s no help to anyone, particularly herself.

Manhattanite or outsider? Manhattanite

History: Young and idealistic, Mia emerged from law school as a prodigy student and nailed her first position at the astounding age of 23, as a rookie defense lawyer under the tutelage of Marvin Grossberg and alongside attorneys Robert Hammond and Diego Armando. She remained at Grossberg and Co Law Offices for three years, and in her first year she and Diego became a couple—but that happy time was not fated to last, as Diego was poisoned and put into a coma six months later. Mia suspected young university student Dahlia Hawthorne, but was never able to prove her guilt.

One year later, however, Mia found herself facing her lover’s murderer in court when she was hired to defend Phoenix Wright, who was accused of the murder of a fellow student, Doug Swallow. Wright’s girlfriend—none other than Dahlia Hawthorne—was brought in to testify in the case, and the evidence was stacked highly against him. But Mia, suspecting Dahlia’s involvement in this murder case as well and determined to bring her down, fought passionately for Phoenix, and in the end managed not only to prove that Phoenix was innocent, but that Dahlia was the real murderer of Doug Swallow, and linked to the poisoning of Diego Armando as well.

Having achieved some measure of closure in the case of her lover’s poisoning, Mia continued at her work for several more years, even opening her own law firm, but as time went on she found that her passion and drive for her job fading away. Her last act as a defense attorney was to mentor her former client Phoenix Wright and pass on as much of her knowledge to him as she could. After Phoenix’s first successful trial, Mia finally admitted to herself that she was burned out, and, informing her protégé that he had learned all from her that she could, she wished him the best of luck and packed up, leaving Los Angeles with no notion of when (if ever) she would return.

Mia went clear across the country to New York City, using her savings to rent a decent apartment in East Village and working temporary jobs here and there for a little extra cash. She made friends with most of the neighborhood, particularly the owners of the Rai Rai Ken Ramen Bar, her favorite place to eat, but found herself missing the people she had left behind in Los Angeles, such as her sister Maya, her former student Phoenix, and of course Diego.

The horror of the monster’s attack shattered Mia’s peaceful if lonely way of life. As she and her neighbors attempted to evacuate, Mia nearly came face-to-face with the monster near Union Square before being knocked unconscious by a piece of falling debris. She woke up to a whole new world: Manhattan empty, a scene of destruction and death, the bridges and the tunnels all destroyed and the people who were left trapped. Somewhere in the city the monster still roamed, while the subways were filled with little crab-like creatures who would attack without provocation. Mia and a few others hid for days, waiting for a rescue that would never come.

It soon became clear that a new way of life must be salvaged from the horrific attack. Mia and the neighbors who were left returned to their homes in East Village, soon joined by others, and began to band together for survival.
